Radon test kits are avaiable for residents of Brooke County and can be picked up at the health department. The kits are free and the instructions are easy to follow.
Radon is an invisible, odorless gas which is one of the leading causes of lung cancer. It can enter homes through the basement via cracks in the floor or the foundation.
If your home is found to have high elevations of radon gas, the health department can provide you with information on how to prevent the gas from entering the home and how to vent it to the outside of the home. |
